IRIS ranks top universities in research productivity

Renz Louie E. Galanto is a current 3rd year BS Medical Laboratory Science Student of Cagayan State University - College of Allied Health Sciences. He is also the Senior Editor-In-Chief of Likha Pahinarya.
Cagayan State University once again proved their excellence by ranking 44th in Engineering, 55th in Health and 59th in Science among top universities in Philippines in terms of research productivity by Institute of Research, Innovation & Scholarship (IRIS).
IRIS released its beta rankings of universities in the Philippines in research during the webinar entitled “Research Dimensions in University Rankings: Snapshot of Philippine Universities” conducted last July 14, 2021.

Dr. David, the presenter of the rankings stressed out the need to importance of tracking the research performances of these universities as these serve to be the seedbeds for knowledge creation.

“Cultivating that intrinsic value for research is an important part of the search for solutions for societal good and for enriching the national talent pool to compete and engage in the global knowledge economy,” added, co-presenter and NAST Academician Dr. Raymond Tan.
Aside from that, Dr. Napoleon K. Juanillo, Jr., IRIS founder, also said that unlocking local rankings is meant to provide stepping stone for HEIs who would want to step for international rankings.
106 universities, public and private institutions, have been ranked on the field of science, engineering & health.
Such rankings were based on publications from Elsevier’s Scopus and Thomson Reuter’s Web of Science and the h-index.
