‘Para sa bayan.’
These were the last words of Margielyn Didal after advancing to the finals of 2020 Tokyo women’s street skateboarding. Didal still made her fellow Filipinos proud as she finished her 2020 Olympics campaign with a seventh place in women’s skateboarding finals, Ariake Urban Sports Park, July 26.
Despite having an apparent ankle sprain, Didal managed to record a total score of 7.52 behind her five tricks in the finals.
Japanese Momiji Nishiya, 13, scored a total of 15.26 to seal the women’s gold while Brazillian Rayssa Leal captured silver from her 14.64 total score. Funa Nakayama, another Japanese teen, bagged bronze with her 14.49 score.
