"Bleachers saturated with colors, students clad in the aesthetic getup."

Gone were the days when auditoriums were filled with deafening cheers competing to outmatch the other; the luminescing stages adorned with decorative ribbons; and the evident jitteriness and excitement of the partakers.

The world has been battling with this weensy enemy since the first quarter of 2020. Borders were shut; industries, even educational institutions, were restricted to operate. It was as if we had reached a movie’s climax, and someone suddenly got the remote and paused the video – leaving us hanging, not knowing when and how to recommence.

Just like that, the world had drastically changed. But, as a persisting and resilient human race, we compromised and modified our old ways to adapt to the present. As a result, students and some employees were strained to take the online mode of learning and working. Similarly, the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) manifested perseverance by finding alternatives to continue its tradition, albeit with the unprecedented setup.

This 3rd and 4th day of December, yet again, the annual CAHS College Days is held not just to encourage student involvement and build rapport among departments; it also unveils talents and elicits everyone’s ability to transcend limitations imposed by the pandemic. For the second time around, the college virtually does it. This year, the theme is based on a Black Clover, a Japanese Manga series stressing the journey of two orphans – Yuno and Asta – fueled with determination and accompanied by magical abilities to be the wizard kings.

Like the story, the college sorted four clusters, each grounded from the four French suits of playing cards named clover, diamond, spade, and heart. Every kingdom houses warriors – Clover Magic Knights, Heart Spirit Guardians, Diamond Shining Generals, and Spade Mage Warriors – indomitably primed to safeguard the realm and complete the quests to victory.

A literary fest is held to kick off this mystical journey, challenging CAHSian excellence in every domain, highlighting their eloquence, verbal prowess, and wit as they plunge into Impromptu and Photo Extemporaneous Speaking.

In addition, several virtual art activities including Charcoal Painting, Digital Poster Making, and Photo Contest, invited the participants to channel their creative inspirations and translate them into the fluidity of their brush strokes and the certainty of their framing.

Whereas, a test of rhythm and melody is ushered by the socio-cultural activities, namely Vocal Solo Kundiman, Vocal Solo Pop, Contemporary Dance, Hataw CSUan, and Dance Sports. Of course, the virtual Sports which entails the games “Call Of Duty Mobile,” “Mobile Legends Bangbang Tournament” and online chess tournament proved that they were not the ones to be missed, as they showcased the different teams’ agility, critical thinking, and the ability for collaboration and communication.

Throughout the two-day event, the Knights, Generals, Mages, and Guardians were enthralled and ecstatic, as evidenced by their virtual support from the platform: the chants and hoorays. Although the COVID-19 restrictions prevented us from relishing the loud cheers from our group of friends, the oh-so-fun cluster yells, and the late-night after-parties, students were still able to form new connections and even briefly recalibrate. Thanks to the fantastic coordinators and the council for ensuring the program to be nothing but a successful event.

Some things remain, some transition and metamorphose. This affair, virtual or not, certainly signifies that the festive spirit of CAHSians is always through the roof! As we then quest towards infinite possibilities and changes, may one thing remain adamant and unwavering – our CAHSian identity for excellence and consistency.
