Renz Louie E. Galanto is a current 3rd year BS Medical Laboratory Science Student of Cagayan State University - College of Allied Health Sciences. He is also the Senior Editor-In-Chief of Likha Pahinarya.

Likha Pahinarya attended the Youth Environmental Summit spearheaded by the Local Youth Development Office by the Local Government Unit of Tuguegarao City on June 16, 2021.

With the theme “Community Empowerment and Public Service for Environmental Sustainability: It Starts with YOUth!,” 6 members of the publication under the leadership of Mr. Renz Louie Galanto, the Editor-in-Chief, participated in the event which was held via the Zoom Telecommunications App

“Indeed, it was a nice event, well, it was the first outside the college event wherein we have the honor in representing and carrying one of a publication, which was just formed last month,” Mr. Tumaliuan said

Around two hundred individuals from different organizations both from public and private sectors including schools around the city took part in the summit

Different topics were discussed in the summit which focused all about the environment and the role that the youth can take part as a responsible citizen of the planet.

“We are not able to talk of course, because it is summit, but we are allowed to ask questions and it was a fruitful discussion and I do hope our colleagues were also able to grasp the learning that I have found from that summit, I hope it will not be a one day event for the sake of reports, I hope it will be for a long run,” said, the managing editor

He stressed out his desire to work together with the different agencies that will promote different events that will be uplifting and promoting climate action

“Yes, we are a publication, we are not directly functioning with the matter but we have a proactive role in this world, as the herald of information, we know that we can be an advocate towards the action that we desperately need right now, we say “Youth Voice Matters”, and so, this is it, this is one of the events where we can say we are committed in making sure that we speak the truth and we make an action,” he added

He assures that the publication will remain to be committed in the goal of sustainable development and he, as the leader of the publication, remains to be open to any discussions where he sees that they can perform duties that is part with their goals as well.
